Prepare and install the physical platform.
Activities
- Validate approved rack elevations, delivery inventory and installation sequence.
- Install equipment and cable-management components to approved instructions.
- Record serials, locations, exceptions and authorised power-on checks.
Documentation
- Rack elevations and equipment schedule
- Goods-received and installation checklist
- Exception log and installation inspection evidence
Standardisation
- Use one rack/U-position notation and equipment identifier scheme.
- Follow approved manufacturer instructions and the site method statement.
Proposed SOP outlines
- Confirm access, lifting arrangements and rack readiness before handling equipment.
- Inspect, install, identify and check each item; record deviations for approval.
Deliverables
- Updated rack elevation and asset register
- Installation inspection and snag list
